The Application Process

Applying for an NC Student Assist or NC Parent Assist Loan only takes a few minutes. Once students and/or parents have completed the application, we’ll work with you to certify the loan. After the student accepts the loan offer and signs the agreement, we’ll send the funds directly to your school.

School Certification & Disbursement Methods

NC Assist requires your certification to confirm the borrower's eligibility for the loan amount.

We use a selection of fund disbursement platforms to support the loans we provide. These platforms include ELM, ScholarNet, and the custom NC Assist Student Loan Admin Portal for schools that don't use ELM or ScholarNet.
